UWA Albany Skywest Public Lecture : Education - Challenges for the Future Other events...
Growing up in rural Victoria in a family of farmers and teachers, it seems Professor Alan Robson was destined to become one of the country’s leading agricultural scientists and education figures.
Now both Vice-Chancellor of the University of Western Australia and the Hackett Professor of Agriculture, Professor Robson has held many distinguished positions. Professor Robson will discuss the fast changing domestic and international environment in which the aspiration to success at tertiary level provides the best chance for personal success, as well as the best opportunity to make positive changes for the good of humankind. The challenge is to develop new collaborative approaches with government, business and the community which will help participation and equity to ensure that all those able to benefit from higher education have the opportunity to do so. Professor Robson has made a significant contribution to the education sector. He counts his impact on WA’s graduate students and their subsequent contributions to science and agriculture as one of his greatest achievements.
